In this piece of artwork, I started off with a blank canvas with the words “Aut Inveniam Viam Aut Faciam” painted on.  This Latin phrase translates to “I shall either find a way or make one”, alluding to the experimental process in which I used many different mediums and multiple layers of a variety of paints.  The initially vertical letters form into the melting, fluid drip lines, contrasting with the strokes of the horizontal green leaves.  This is how the initially empty painting evolves and finds a way to emerge from the origins of determination.

Enter the water lilies, symbols of purity and fortitude, flourishing with serene elegance despite their murky origins, similar to the process in which I created this painting.  These radiant blooms, with their delicate forms, defy their origins in the sludge.  Their vibrant hues and poised presence stand in stark contrast to the turbulent background, embodying a quiet, resilient beauty that persists through adversity.

This painting transcends visual representation; it is an immersive experience.  It is a powerful testament to how color and form can convey profound truths and emotions.  In this vibrant tableau, I chart my own path, and perhaps, through this visual journey, you’ll find representations of your own.

This is the first painting of the Aut Inveniam Viam Aut Faciam series.
